Green 2
Guitar
On the 10 th we went in to track most of the guitar tracks in a 2 hour session. We went in with a
starting point for the signal path from our last recording session. We used a fender telecaster, going
into an Orange TH30. On the floor we had a few of my own guitar pedals but for the actual
tracking we used a Boss Blues Driver, a Boss DD7 and a Digitec Polaris. We used the Blues Driver to
push the guitar amp a bit as well as adding its own colouration to the guitar tone.
We made a lot of takes for each guitar part leaving us with a lot of post-production cutting to be
done, going through the different takes for the different tracks and selecting the best sections of the
performances. We recorded 3 channels of audio per take;
DI signal
Shure SM57
Royer R121
The SM57 was used to provide what will become the bulk of the tone later on, positioned half on,
half on the dustcap. The Royer provides a much warmer tone to supplement the sound of the SM57.
We used the DI box to record a plain signal to reamp later on.
